Chair and Bench Memorials

When visiting the Gardens of Remembrance you will see chairs and benches that are leased by families.  To preserve the integrity of ashes already at rest we are unable to install new benches and chairs.  There is currently a waiting list for chairs and benches in the Gardens of Remembrance, please contact our office and our staff will be able to provide further advice.

Benches are available in Upminster Cemetery upon request, please contact the office for further information.

    Lease & Renewal

    The fee includes:

    • the bench/chair
    • the first plaque
    • 10 year lease in grounds
    • security fixings and regular maintenance
    • option to renew at lease end

    If you purchase a bench and wish to add another plaque at a later date, you will need to pay for:

    • the additional plaque
    • the rights to have a further dedication on the bench, unless added within the first year of the lease

    If you have a wooden or recycled plastic bench and decide not to renew the lease you may take the bench away if you wish, once you have advised the office.  This is not available for the granite benches.
