News & Events
We are committed to working with businesses and compassionate professionals involved in our industry, to care for the bereaved well beyond the funeral. We offer the opportunity for families to take part in communal memorial events on a regular basis as well as marking special occasions.
Families and professionals are welcome to visit us and to see how our caring and professional staff carry out their work. We are also happy come out to your community group to share with them an audio visual presentation of our service to inform and help residents plan for their future.
Throughout the autumn 2019 communities across the UK hosted silhouette installations to represent service personnel who lost their lives in the First World War. Details can be found at: https://www.therebutnotthere.org.uk/
The project had three simple aims: commemorate; educate and heal.
In Havering we invited young people to create silhouettes of a WW1 serviceman/woman to be displayed within the borough, initially in Romford Cemetery Memorial Chapel. We wanted, not only to remember the people we lost, but to honour and celebrate the talent, resourcefulness, potential and willingness to serve others that there is amongst young people in Havering today.
We were pleased to have the support of the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre who presented the best overall entry with one month free fitness memberships as well as one day passes for everyone taking part.
Residents and businesses were invited to to apply by silent auction for one of the silhouettes created and display it on their premises and the proceeds benefited charities devoted to helping ex-servicemen and women.
